WWU RESEARCH

Participating in lab research has many benefits for students intending to pursue a career or graduate school related to psychology. These benefits include:

  • Gain experience and skills
  • Learn how to analyze, score, and code data
  • Obtain upper division independent study credit
  • Present posters/talks at conferences
  • Publish as a co-author
  • Engage in mentorship with faculty
  • Receive solid letter of recommendation
  • Add to resume or curriculum vitae (CV)

In 2019, the WWU Psi Chi chapter sent out a survey to all Western psychology professors to inquire about their current research and determine how students could get involved with their research labs. We compiled the responses in an easy-to-navigate spreadsheet.
